Why the Big Bad Bookstore?

So much meaning is held in a title. In order to combat the attack on Critical Race Theory and the centering of stories of Black, Indigenous, People of Color, we are embracing these “bad” and “banned” books and giving them the attention they deserve, putting them center stage.

Big Bad Bookstore is Black and Latine owned, and focused on reclaiming our narrative in a climate where intentional erasure and misinformation abounds.
