WHERE STORIES & COMMUNITY BLEND

Welcome to Queer Book Club at El Sueñito Brewing Seattle and Frelard Tamales! All gender expressions and sexual orientations are welcomed. Join us from 7pm - 9pm every Wednesday to read and discuss books with queer themes or characters written by queer authors. Every month we select a different book, mixing up subject and genre for variety, and break it down into four parts for easy reading over the month.

The first hour of every QBC meeting is for reading at book club reserved tables and enjoying our special early happy hour prices on food and drinks. Our second hour is for discussing the section of the book we've read this week and socializing.

OUR CURRENT READ

One of the most beloved cult novels of our time and a landmark of trans literature, Imogen Binnie's Nevada is a blistering, heartfelt, and evergreen coming-of-age story, and a punk-smeared excavation of marginalized life under capitalism. Guided by an instantly memorable, terminally self-aware protagonist—and back in print featuring a new afterword by the author—Nevada is the great American road novel flipped on its head for a new generation. Read through chapter 15 for 3/4, through ch. 28 for 3/11, through ch. 17 in part two for 3/18, rest of the book for 3/25.

OUR NEXT READ

We're marching into March with Nevada by Imogen Binnie—a beloved cult classic and punk-soaked road trip through trans life. Maria Griffiths steals her ex's car after a breakup and ends up in Star City, Nevada, where she meets James, who might be trans and reminds her of her younger self. This blistering, heartfelt landmark of trans literature is a must-read.
